Visa Information - Australia

UK visitors travelling to Australia for leisure are required to obtain a visitor visa before travelling. 

The below information is based on UK passport holders only. It is the responsibility of each passenger in your party to apply. Failure to do so would lead to non-entry to Australia. TripsBeyond cannot be held liable in any way for non-compliance or refused entry to Australia.

eVisitor Visa Australia (subclass 651)

The eVisitor (subclass 651) is for visiting Australia as often as you wish in a 12-month period, staying up to 3 months each time you enter Australia and is free to apply for.

You can apply for an eVisitor Visa through the Australian Government website – eVisitor Visa

You will need to create an ImmiAccount where you will submit your application and check the status of your visa. - ImmiAccount

When applying, you will be required to upload an image of your passport and another form of ID, such as a drivers licence. We recommend having these close by when applying.

Electronic Travel Authority (subclass 601)

If you are having issues applying for the eVisitor Visa you can apply for the Australian Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) through the app, available on the  Apple Store or Google Play Store. There is a small admin fee for this visa of AUD$20.

You can apply for an ETA by scanning your passport through the official app. A step-by-step video guide on how this is done can be found on the official Australian Government Website:

We recommend applying for the eVisitor visa first. However, if you are having issues uploading photo evidence of your passport, the ETA is the alternative visa you can apply for.
