The lodge sits in Hagensborg, in the heart of the Bella Coola Valley, with the region's shops and restaurants a short drive away in Bella Coola itself. The BC Ferries terminal is around 15 minutes away, handy if you're arriving on the Discovery Coast Passage, while Tweedsmuir Provincial Park is roughly 35 minutes further along Highway 20. Bella Coola Airport is just a few minutes from the lodge, so this makes an easy base whether you're flying in or arriving by sea. Beyond the valley, the Great Bear Rainforest stretches along the coast, home to some of the best bear viewing in British Columbia.
In our experience, Bella Coola Mountain Lodge suits travellers who genuinely want to get off the beaten track. It's one of the few comfortable, well-run bases in a part of British Columbia that most visitors never reach.
