This 17 square mile town, the second oldest on the Cape, combines three distinctive villages – West Yarmouth, Yarmouth Port and South Yarmouth. Together they create one history-rich area with iconic landmarks such as Gray’s Beach boardwalk, a 19th century windmill, museums, historic sea captain’s homes, family-friendly attractions and romantic getaways.
No matter the season, Yarmouth brings the Cape Cod experience within reach
Today in Yarmouth, you can spend time at the beach, wander by an old windmill, dabble in a most unusual and wondrous fried clam chowder, and explore the home of one of America’s most creative souls, that oft-macabre Edward Gorey.
It is a unique corner of the Cape, so plan to stay a few days.
While visiting Yarmouth during the summer, check out the Sand Sculpture Trail! The trail consists of 33 sculptures located at various local businesses and sites across Town.
The Town of Yarmouth is home to many beautiful salt water and fresh water beaches. During the summer season (May-September), the beaches are open and staffed (lifeguards, gate attendants, etc) from 8am to 4pm. Most of our beaches have a bathhouse and two beaches offer a snack bar to patrons.
