Holiday Overview
Experience Australia's spectacular Kimberley coastline, one of the oldest and largest landscapes on earth, with Silversea on this 10 night Darwin to Perth expedition cruise.
Beginning in Darwin, enjoy a day trip to Kakadu National Park to discover towering waterfalls, rock formations, rivers and wildlife including saltwater crocodiles, flatback turtles and birds. Your Kimberley cruise departs Darwin aboard a Silversea expedition ship, travelling through coral reefs, islands and stunning waterfalls along the Western Australia coast. An expedition cruise gets you closer to nature, with zodiac excursions bringing you up close to sights including Horizontal Falls and King George Falls. The onboard expedition team are on hand throughout to share their insight into the Kimberley's geology and wildlife.
Cruising into Broome in Western Australia, take part in a pearl farm experience and learn about the pearls of the area. End your itinerary in Perth with a visit to Rottnest Island to meet the resident quokkas, followed by a cruise along the Swan River for some wine tasting.

Day 2 - Experience Kakadu National Park
Sprawling across the Northern Territory, Kakadu is Australia's largest national park and one of its most celebrated icons. Its dual World Heritage listing recognises both its remarkable landscapes and its extraordinary cultural significance, rooted in one of the oldest living cultures on earth. Nowhere is this more evident than at Ubirr, where ancient rock art has been preserved for thousands of years and played a key role in Kakadu earning that prestigious status.
Your day begins with a 1.5 hour scenic flight over this vast wilderness, with expert commentary bringing the landscape to life. From there, you'll land in Jabiru and join the Guluyambi Cruise along the East Alligator River, guided by an Aboriginal host who shares a genuine and personal insight into their culture and traditions. Lunch is something a little different, prepared in partnership with Aboriginal bush traders and showcasing indigenous bush foods with a contemporary twist. The day wraps up at Ubirr, where the rock art sites offer a window into an ancient world and the views across the western floodplains are nothing short of spectacular.

Day 3 - Board Silversea Kimberly Cruise
Today, transfer to Darwin Cruise Port for your Silversea Expedition cruise of the Kimberly onboard Silver Cloud.
Day 4 - Day at Sea
Enjoy a day at leisure to use the onboard facilities including the fitness centre and spa.
Day 5 - Ashmore Reef
Sitting 630 kilometres off the coast of Broome in the Indian Ocean, Ashmore Reef Marine Park is an Australian External Territory spanning 583 square kilometres. The reef is a significant breeding ground for seabirds, with over 100,000 nesting there each year across more than 40 species, including crested terns, white-tailed tropicbirds and greater frigatebirds. Migratory shorebirds also pass through, some travelling all the way from Siberia. Beneath the surface, the protected Sanctuary zone is home to around 500 species of fish, along with marine turtles and dugongs.
Day 6 - Day at Sea
A full day at sea to enjoy the onboard facilities.
Day 7 - Wyndham
Founded in 1886 during the Halls Creek gold rush, Wyndham sits at the head of the Cambridge Gulf where several of the Kimberley's great rivers meet, making it one of Western Australia's most isolated ports. From here, the Ord River is reachable by boat, offering a tidal freshwater landscape rich with crocodiles, rock wallabies and remarkable birdlife.
Day 8 - Koolama Bay
Named after a ship that took shelter here during a World War II air raid, Koolama Bay is the launching point for Zodiac expeditions up the King George River. The route passes through dramatic red cliff faces and ancient rock formations, with saltwater crocodiles lining the banks and Brahminy Kites circling above, capturing everything that makes Australia's remote northwest so compelling.
Day 9 - Vansittart Bay (Jar Island)
Near the northern tip of Western Australia, Vansittart Bay is home to two of the Kimberley's most important rock art sites on Jar Island, with both Gwion Gwion and Wandjina styles found in remarkable proximity. The Anjo Peninsula adds a surprising historical dimension, where a World War II C-53 aircraft lies largely intact on the beach along one of Australia's most far-flung coastlines.
Day 10 - Hunter River Region
The Hunter River cuts through a vast mangrove system framed by towering red sandstone cliffs, its narrow channels home to an array of birdlife, mudskippers, fiddler crabs and saltwater crocodiles. Naturalist Island at the river mouth serves as a helicopter landing point for those heading further inland to Mitchell Falls, four cascading tiers of waterfalls dropping into deep pools below.
Day 11 - Buccaneer Archipelago Region
Made up of around 800 islands, the Buccaneer Archipelago is known for its extraordinary tidal activity, most notably the reversible horizontal waterfall in Talbot Bay. As the tide retreats, Montgomery Reef appears to emerge from the ocean, its surface alive with waterfalls and marine life including turtles and manta rays. At Freshwater Cove, Aboriginal guides greet visitors with traditional ochre ceremonies, and nearby rock art caves remain accessible only in the company of local guides.
Day 12 - Buccaneer Archipelago Region
A second full day to explore the Buccaneer Archipelago Region.
Day 13 - Disembark Broome

Day 14 - Broome Pearl Farm
Just 38 kilometres north of Broome, Willie Creek Pearl Farm offers a fascinating look at the world of modern pearl farming. From the oyster nursery to the jewellery showroom, you'll follow the full journey of an Australian South Sea Pearl set against the stunning backdrop of the Kimberley landscape.
The tour includes a cruise along the calm waters of Willie Creek, where live oysters can be seen suspended in their natural environment, as well as a visit to the pearl oyster nursery to learn how Pinctada maxima oysters are collected, spawned and cared for by the farm's skilled technicians. The highlight is the Pearling Masterclass, where a live harvest reveals a pearl that has been two years in the making, its quality and value unknown until that very moment.
Return transport from your Broome accommodation is included, and there's time to relax at the Harvest Café with refreshments and the farm's famous homemade damper. The visit wraps up in the jewellery showroom, where you can learn how to care for pearl jewellery and try on some of the collection.
