Visa Information - New Zealand

UK visitor’s travelling to New Zealand for leisure require to obtain a visitor visa before travelling.

This information is based on UK passport holders only. It is the responsibility of each passenger in your party to apply. Failure to do so would lead to non-entry to New Zealand. TripsBeyond cannot be held liable in any way for non-compliance or refused entry to New Zealand.

New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA)

For visiting and transiting through New Zealand, you will require a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA).

You can apply for a NZeTA through the website or mobile app. Applying through the website costs $23 NZD and $17 NZD through the app. You will also be required to pay the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) of $100 NZD. Your NZeTA can take to 72 hours to process once approved it is valid for 2 years. You can check your NZeTA status here: https://nzeta.immigration.govt.nz/check-status 

Upon arrival in New Zealand, you will need to show proof of a return or onward ticket and proof of your prebooked and paid for travel plans.

New Zealand Traveller Declaration

In addition to your NZeTA, everyone travelling into New Zealand needs to complete a New Zealand Traveller Declaration (NZTD). It is free and you can use the online form or the NZTD app. There is a paper declaration form for travellers who cannot complete it online.

Your declaration is linked to your passport and is checked when you arrive at the e-Gate or by a border control officer.

Traveling by air or sea, the earliest you can complete this form is 24 hours prior to the start of your trip to New Zealand and must be submitted by the time you reach border control.
