Iguaçu Falls is nature at its most overwhelming, a vast curtain of nearly 300 waterfalls crashing through lush Atlantic rainforest along the Brazil Argentina border. On the Brazilian side, walkways lead you along the canyon rim for sweeping panoramic views across the entire falls system, culminating at the thunderous Devil's Throat, where mist rises high enough to create permanent rainbows. It's a spectacle that photographs simply cannot prepare you for.

Beyond the falls themselves, the Brazilian side offers superb wildlife spotting, with coatis, toucans and butterflies common along the trails, plus a helicopter ride for those wanting a bird's eye view of the falls in full. The nearby Parque das Aves is well worth a visit too, home to hundreds of tropical bird species in immersive walkthrough aviaries. Many visitors base themselves here for a day or two before crossing into Argentina for a different perspective on the same extraordinary falls.
