Holiday Overview
There are not many places that can boast being home to vast mountains, desert Badlands, prairies and forests but Alberta has all of the above and over 600 picturesque lakes too.
This 12-day trip will take you on a tour of Alberta starting in the heart of Bow Valley in Canmore, before taking you on a wondrous journey through the Rockies. With a stop at Lake Louise, one of the most photographed lakes in Canada, and the Athabasca Glacier, where we have included a ride on the ice explorer. You will continue your experience of the Canadian Rockies with a 3-night stay in Banff where you will take a gondola ride for a birds eye view of the stunning Bow Valley and mountain ranges. Next stop is Kananaskis, the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and end your trip on a high at Alberta’s hidden gem - ending with 2 nights in Calgary with admission to the Calgary Tower.
This trip will let leave you completely in awe of the scenery and just how beautiful nature can be.

Day 1 - Fly to Calgary, travel to Canmore
Fly to Calgary. Pick up your car hire and make your way to Canmore for your 2-night stay. Canmore is an approx. 70minute drive from the airport.

Day 2 - Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary
During your visit to the Wolfdog Sanctuary you will gain a better understanding about wild wolves and their importance in the natural environment while also seeing first hand wolf behaviour through the wolfdogs at the sanctuary. You will have plenty of photo opportunities and ample time to speak with the sanctuary guardian who will answer all your questions. This exclusive tour has limited availability and a maximum of 8 participants per tour to ensure the wolfdogs stay inquisitive and close during your visit.
Highlights: • Semi-private guided sanctuary experience • Plenty of photo opportunities • Up close and personal experience with wolfdogs Remainder of your day is at leisure to explore Canmore, it has many walking and hiking trails accessible from the downtown area, we recommend taking in Engine Bridge for a flat relaxing walk.

Day 4 - Lake Louise to Jasper
Travel the awe inspiring Icefield Parkway from Lake Louise to Jasper. Enjoy the wildlife, pristine lakes, and breathtaking mountain peaks along the world famous Icefields Parkway. Visit the natural wonder of the Columbia Icefield - one of the largest expanses of ice and snow south of the Arctic Circle. Step onboard an Ice Explorer for an interpretive adventure onto the Athabasca Glacier. At the Glacier Skywalk, enjoy the unobstructed view on a glass-floored observation platform extending 30 metres out over the Sunwapta Valley. (included)
