The hotel sits on the Pipestone River with the Rockies rising behind it, a 5-minute walk from Lake Louise village's shops and restaurants. Lake Louise Ski Resort is around a 5-minute drive away, and Lake Louise itself is a similar distance, with Moraine Lake a little further on for a half day out. Numerous hiking trails start close to the hotel, ranging from gentle riverside walks to routes up into the surrounding peaks. Calgary International Airport is roughly a 2-hour transfer away.
In our experience, this suits travellers after a quieter, more intimate alternative to Lake Louise's bigger hotels, particularly anyone with an interest in fine dining or wine. It works well as a standalone stay or as part of a wider self drive through the Canadian Rockies.
