Day 2 - Calgary to Banff

Your motorhome journey starts today! Pick up your vehicle from the CanaDream depot and set out on the drive to Banff. As you leave Calgary, watch the landscape transform from bustling city to the dramatic peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Once you’ve arrived at your campsite, spend the rest of the day at leisure discovering the charming town of Banff.

Day 3 - Explore Banff

Spend a full day discovering the beauty of Banff National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Canada’s most breathtaking destinations. The park is surrounded by spectacular natural wonders, including the sparkling waters of Lake Minnewanka, the turquoise hues of Bow Lake, and the striking silhouette of Castle Mountain.

During your visit, you might take a ride on the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain for panoramic views of the Rockies or relax and unwind in the soothing waters of the Banff Upper Hot Springs. Stroll through the charming town of Banff with its boutique shops, galleries, and restaurants, or explore the many hiking trails and scenic drives nearby. Wildlife spotting is common too you may even catch a glimpse of elk, deer, or mountain goats in their natural habitat.

Day 4 - Banff to Jasper

Your journey through the Canadian Rockies continues today as you travel along the legendary Icefields Parkway one of the most scenic drives in the world. Along the way, stop to admire turquoise Bow Lake, the thundering Athabasca Falls, and the impressive Columbia Icefield, where you can step onto the ancient Athabasca Glacier. You’ll also pass the world-famous Lake Louise, renowned for its striking emerald waters and surrounding mountain peaks.

On arrival in Jasper, settle into your campsite and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, perhaps taking a gentle stroll through town or simply soaking up the tranquillity of your surroundings.

Day 5 - Explore Jasper

Canada’s largest Rocky Mountain Park, Jasper is a true wilderness haven filled with rugged beauty and endless opportunities for outdoor adventure. Traveling here by RV gives you the freedom to explore its wide-open spaces, dramatic peaks, and tranquil valleys at your own pace.

Highlights include the crystal-clear waters of Maligne Lake famous for the iconic Spirit Island and the dramatic limestone walls of Maligne Canyon. Drive along the scenic routes to spot wildlife such as elk, bears, and bighorn sheep, or take the Jasper SkyTram up Whistlers Mountain for sweeping views across the Athabasca Valley. At night, the park transforms into one of the world’s largest Dark Sky Preserves, making it an unforgettable destination for stargazing.

Day 6 - Jasper to Edmonton

Leave the towering peaks of the Rockies behind as you journey east from Jasper toward Edmonton. The drive begins with winding mountain roads framed by alpine forests and glacier-fed rivers before gradually opening into the rolling foothills and golden prairies of Alberta. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, from elk and deer grazing in meadows to soaring eagles overhead.

As you approach Edmonton, the scenery shifts to a vibrant urban landscape. Known as Alberta’s capital, Edmonton blends culture, history, and modern attractions from the vast West Edmonton Mall to its thriving arts district and river valley parks. The drive offers a fitting transition from wilderness adventure to city exploration.

Day 7 - Edmonton to Drumheller

Today’s journey takes you southeast through the heart of Alberta, leaving behind the bustle of Edmonton as you travel into wide-open prairies and rolling farmland. The drive offers glimpses of Alberta’s agricultural heartland, dotted with small towns, grain silos, and vast skies that seem to stretch forever.

As you near Drumheller, the scenery transforms dramatically. The flat prairies give way to the striking Badlands canyons, hoodoos, and layered rock formations carved by centuries of wind and water. This unique landscape feels almost otherworldly and sets the stage for Drumheller’s fascinating history as the “Dinosaur Capital of the World.”

Upon arrival in Edmonton settle into your campsite spending the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day 8 - Explore Drumheller

Drumheller offers a fascinating mix of history, science, and unique landscapes, making it a highlight of your motorhome adventure. Explore the world-renowned Royal Tyrrell Museum, home to one of the largest collections of dinosaur fossils on the planet. Step back in time as you walk through exhibits that bring Alberta’s prehistoric past to life.

Venture into the surrounding Badlands, where surreal hoodoos, rugged canyons, and colourful rock layers create a dramatic backdrop. The Hoodoos Trail and Horseshoe Canyon are perfect for short hikes and photo stops. Families will love climbing inside the World’s Largest Dinosaur, a towering T-rex replica offering panoramic views over the town.

For a touch of local history, drive the Dinosaur Trail loop to see historic coal mines, the Star Mine Suspension Bridge, and striking viewpoints of the Red Deer River Valley. After a day of adventure, return to your campsite to relax under the wide Alberta skies.

Day 9 - Drumheller to Calgary Return

Your final drive today is back to Calgary returning your motorhome before your onward flight home.
