This eleven night journey offers a relaxed exploration of the Yucatán Peninsula, beginning in Cancún before travelling through colonial Valladolid, the flamingo filled Ría Lagartos reserve and the Maya ruins of Chichén Itzá. The route continues through Mérida, Uxmal and the walled port city of Campeche, with stops at cenotes, a traditional salsa workshop and the Maya village of Santa Elena, before finishing with four nights in beachside Tulum. With colonial towns, ancient ruins, natural cenotes and the Caribbean coast all included, the trip moves at an easy pace with plenty of time to enjoy each stop along the way.

Day 1 - Cancun

Arrival into Cancún, met at the airport and transferred to your hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 2 - Valladoild

Visit the bustling Mercado Municipal before a walking tour of colonial Valladolid, taking in the zócalo and Franciscan churches. Dinner included at the Conato 1910 restaurant.

Day 3 - Valladoild

Full day excursion to the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve, with a boat tour through mangrove channels past the pink salt ponds of Las Coloradas, box lunch included.

Day 4 - Merida

Visit Chichén Itzá to see El Castillo and El Caracol, then cool off at Cenote Yokdzonot before a tour of colonial Mérida. Dinner included at Micaela Mar y Leña.

Day 5 - Uxmal

Browse Mérida's colourful markets and the Gran Museo del Mundo Maya, then continue to Uxmal to explore its ruins and the Ecomuseo del Cacao.

Day 6 - Campeche

A hands on salsa making workshop at the Ya'axche ethno gastronomic centre in Halachó, lunch included, followed by a tour of the walled city of Campeche.

Day 7 - Merida

Visit the small Maya village of Santa Elena, then hike among the crystal clear cenotes of Homún before returning to Mérida.

Day 8 - Tulum

Stop in Izamal to see the pyramid temple of Kinich Kakmó, then visit the ruins of Cobá on the way to Tulum.

Visit the clifftop Maya ruins of Tulum, set directly above the Caribbean Sea, with its temple area and palace overlooking white sand and turquoise water.
