Day 1 - UK to Montreal

Arrive in Montreal and transfer to your downtown hotel. Spending the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 2 - Explore Montreal

Today we have included the Montreal Hop on Hop off Bus to allow you to explore the city at your own pace. This narrated tour explores all aspects of bustling downtown Montreal. Discover the intriguing blend of Old World charm and North American modernism as you pass many of Montreal’s fascinating landmarks.

Enjoy the freedom of leaving the bus, exploring the attractions of your choice at leisure and boarding another bus later on. Photo stops are enjoyed at the Old Port, Mont Royal (from which you receive a prime view of the city), Olympic Park, and St. Joseph’s Oratory.

Day 3 - Montreal to Quebec City

Enjoy some more time this morning exploring Montreal before transferring to the train station for your journey to Quebec City. Enjoy the facilities of the Business Class Lounge before boarding the train. Complimentary newspapers and non-alcoholic beverages are available in the lounge. Following the St. Lawrence River, pass from city suburbs to rural landscapes, forests and rich pastures dotted with tiny villages and maple trees that extend to Quebec City.

For the first hour you will notice the rugged Monteregie Hills, including the lush natural oasis of Mont Royal in Montreal. Arrive to Quebec at Gare du Palais and discover how at 400 years old it is the most charming city in Canada, complete with original architecture and buildings have been lovingly preserved. (Onboard food and beverage service is included)

Day 4 - Explore Quebec City

Explore Quebec City with a walking tour of the Old Town. Follow your cicerone (guide) off the beaten path and be enticed by the charms of Old Québec, a UNESCO world heritage gem! Historical characters will let you experience 400 years of the city’s captivating past! In addition to the Château Frontenac, the Dufferin Terrace and the Notre-Dame-de-Québec Cathedral Basilica, the tour will also take you to the Petit-Champlain district and Place Royale to admire numerous 17th and 18th century buildings.

Day 5 - Board the Princess Majestic

Today transfer to the cruise port for your spectacular Canada and New England Cruise onboard the Majestic Princess. 

Day 6 - Quebec City

To visit Québec is to experience France without crossing the Atlantic. The architecture, the ambience, and the animated conversation on the street confirm the impression that a bit of France has been permanently imbedded in North America.

Stroll along the streets of the atmospheric Latin Quarter and explore the historic stone and brick houses of Old Québec, the only remaining walled city north of Mexico.

Visit the Place Royale and Notre Dame des Victoires, the oldest stone church in North America, and marvel at the turreted Château de Frontenac.

Day 7 - Saguenay, Quebec

The Saguenay Fjord Route is an outstanding landscape of sea, mountains and rising cliffs protected by three National Parks. Its exceptional natural beauty can be discovered by land, sea or air. With a decidedly French atmosphere and a touch of the Old World, the banks of the Saguenay Fjord are lined with charming villages surrounded by beautiful landscapes.

Day 8 - Sept Iles, Canada

Sept-Iles lies 400 miles north of Quebec City on a deep-water bay and is named after the seven-island archipelago that buffers the city. The indigenous residents of the region, the Innu, call it "Uashat" which means "bay." The cultures of both the Innu and the Europeans who arrived in the 16th century feature heavily in the region. Modern-day Sept-Iles is recogniced for its iron and aluminum export. 

Day 9 - At Sea

Day 10 - Corner Brook, Newfoundland

Corner Brook is located on the west coast of Newfoundland nestled among the Long Range Mountains. The coastline is filled with magnificent fjords, thick forested areas and jagged headlands. For thousands of years, people have lived and worked along the shores of the Humber River Valley and the Bay of Islands. The Port of Corner Brook has been welcoming cruise ships for more than 30 years. Nestled in the sheltered Bay of Islands, the 35 kilometre (22 mile) sail into Corner Brook is a favourite among cruise passengers, especially in the fall when the Blomidon Mountains are ablaze with vibrant autumn leaves. James Cook was the first to survey and record the geography of the Bay of Islands. Most of the maps he created are displayed at the Captain James Cook Monument. This picturesque region has many groomed walking trails as well as many thriving communities. Mount Moriah, Benoit's Cove, John's Beach and Frenchman's Cove and Lark Harbour are some of the fishing and mountain communities on Captain Cook's Trail. The island's landscape is dramatic and features rolling hills, pristine forests, reddish-white sand beaches, ocean coves and the famous red soil. The capital of Charlottetown offers a small town feel and a relaxed atmosphere with a cosmopolitan flair. The town has evolved into a dynamic city without sacrificing its historic charm.

One certainly cannot think about Prince Edward without mentioning the author Lucy Maud Montgomery who once lived on PEI and drew inspiration from the land during the late Victorian Era for the setting of her classic novel "Anne of Green Gables." PEI also has another claim to fame with the Confederation Bridge built in 1997. The world's longest bridge over ice-covered waters provides a connection from PEI to the mainland Canada.

Day 11 - At Sea

Day 12 - Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Day 13 - Sydney, Nova Scotia

Cape Breton is fabled as a magical travel destination and the Port of Sydney is the gateway. Known for its beauty and unique Celtic music and culture, Sydney puts some of the Island's greatest sights and attractions at your fingertips when you disembark into the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion. The dockside pavilion offers an array of Shopping Boutiques, a Craft Market and the World's Largest Fiddle. You will also find wireless Internet services, a Visitor Information Centre, and the Cape Breton Island Exhibition Centre featuring artifacts, images and an overview of the rich culture and heritage of this historic Island. The city of Sydney has a deep history and was originally founded in 1785 by British Loyalists fleeing the perils of the American Revolution. The rich natural resources led these new settlers to establish prosperous coal and steel industries, which attracted immigrants from a myriad of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. To this day, Sydney remains a haven of multiculturalism. The Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion is just a short drive from the community of Baddeck and the breath-taking Bras d'Or Lake where Alexander Graham Bell lived, worked and studied. On the east coast of Cape Breton lies the largest historic reconstruction in North America, the Fortress of Louisbourg. The Fortress is a Parks Canada National Historic Site and is described as a Williamsburg-style attraction that is not to be missed.

Day 14 - Halifax, Nova Scotia

The capital of Nova Scotia and the largest city in Canada's Atlantic Provinces, Halifax was once Great Britain's major military bastion in North America. The beautifully restored waterfront buildings of Halifax's Historic Properties recall the city's centuries-old maritime heritage. Stroll the waterfront, and you may find Nova Scotia's floating ambassador, the schooner Bluenose II, tied up to Privateer's Wharf, just as old sailing ships have done for over 200 years. Halifax is also the gateway to Nova Scotia's stunning scenery, including famous Peggy's Cove, where surf-pounded granite cliffs and a solitary lighthouse create an unsurpassed scene of rugged natural beauty.

Day 15 - At Sea

A day to relax onboard your Princess Cruise while you travel to your next destinations. 

Day 16 - Boston, Massachusetts

Today disembark from your Princess Cruise and make your way to your Boston hotel. 

Hailed as the "Cradle of American Independence," Boston is filled with historic sites. Boston was America's first great city. In the 19th century, Boston was rightly described as the "Athens of America." Today this city of 800,000 retains its vitality, combining historic districts with revitalized urban centers while remaining faithful to its venerable roots.

It is a city every American should visit at least once. Follow the Freedom Trail along three of the most historic miles in the country. See the site of the Boston Tea Party, trace the route of Paul Revere's famous ride, and stand on the bridge where Minutemen fired "the shot heard 'round the world." In the old Charlestown Navy Yard you can see the USS Constitution, the nation's oldest commissioned warship.

Day 17 - Explore Boston

Day 18 - Boston to UK

Today transfer to the airport for your onward flight home.
