Holiday Overview
On this amazing Polar Bear Adventure, you’ll explore the Churchill Wildlife Management Area and other viewing areas as amazing opportunities arise. Along the way, look for Arctic Fox, Arctic Hare, Camouflaged Ptarmigan and other wildlife. You’ll also have a Dog Mushing Experience (evening or afternoon, weather depending) and a Cultural and Heritage Tour of historic Churchill, Manitoba. After your day’s adventures, you’ll return home to the cosy wood-fire heated log lodge, sumptuous local cuisine at the Lazy Bear Café, and your warm room with comfy beds and all the modern amenities.

Day 1 - Arrive Winnipeg
Arrive and check into your Winnipeg hotel in the heart of Winnipeg. Meals: None
Day 2 - Churchill Adventure Begins
Take a group shuttle to the airport for your flight to Churchill. Check in at the lodge and settle in. Rest of day at your leisure to explore the lodge and area. Meals: Breakfast

Day 3 - Tundra Tour
Today you will explore the Churchill Wildlife Management Area (CWMA) and other viewing areas on one of our Arctic Crawlers™. Along the way look for arctic fox, arctic hare, camouflaged ptarmigan and other wildlife. After your days adventure return to the lodge to our cosy wood-fire heated lodge and warm room with comfy beds and all the modern amenities. Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

Day 4 - Cultural Tour and Dog Mushing
The Cultural and Heritage Tour this morning will take you to Churchill and the surrounding areas to explore the various historic sites including Cape Merry, an outside tour of the Polar Bear Jail, the famous plane crash site of ‘Miss Piggy’, and may other historic sites that make Churchill the town it is today. This afternoon will be an opportunity to explore the town on your own. You can visit the Itsanitaq Museum, the Parks Canada Museum, Town Complex, and gift shops with local Inuit art that Churchill has to offer. You’ll also have an evening (or afternoon, weather depending) Dog Mushing experience which includes a 1 mile Dog mushing ride. The ride will be on sleds if there is snow and wheels if there is none or not enough snow. Since the dogs love to run either ride will be exhilarating! Learn how the dogs are trained, plus hear many entertaining stories and enjoy local treats. Return to the authentic Northern Lazy Bear Lodge for your final night in Churchill. Northern Lights make an appearance approximately 300 nights of the year, so if weather permits, there will also be an opportunity to see them. Meals: Breakfast

Day 5 - Tundra Tour then flight to Winnipeg
After your scrumptious breakfast at the Lodge, enjoy your final day in Churchill out on the tundra in the CWMA. Plenty of food will be provided including lunch, snacks and beverages on both tundra excursions. You will learn about the polar bears and explore the area where the polar bears wait for the winter icepack to freeze on the Hudson Bay. Curious and far from shy, the bears will sometimes come right alongside the vehicles to sneak a peek at their visitors. Today you will have an opportunity for dinner prior to being shuttled with the group to the airport for your flight back to Winnipeg and to check in at your airport hotel.

Day 6 - Departure
After breakfast, check out from your Winnipeg hotel and head onwards at leisure. Meals: Breakfast
