Visa Information USA

UK passport holders travelling to the United States of America for leisure are eligible to apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) under the US Visa Waiver Program (VWP).

The below information is based on UK passport holders only. It is the responsibility of each passenger in your party to apply. Failure to do so would lead to non-entry to the United States. TripsBeyond cannot be held liable in any way for non-compliance or refused entry to the United States.

An Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is an electronic travel authorisation linked to your passport, allowing you to travel to the USA for short stays up to six months within it's validity.

You can apply for an ESTA at https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta
It costs USD$21 for the application.

Most applications are approved within minutes, but it may take considerably longer if you need to submit documents or are required to obtain a US Visa in person from a US Embassy.

An ESTA is valid for up to two years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. You can apply for it as many times as you require. You do not need to renew your ESTA if you have a change or error in the following: employment, home address, work address, phone number, email address, travel itinerary, transit status, travel address, or in the point of contact information. However, please have the correct information readily available, as it may be requested during the inspection process.

If you have ever reported your passport as lost or stolen, do not use it for travel to the USA.

It is the responsibility of each passenger in your party to apply for an ESTA. Failure to do so would lead to non-entry to the USA. TripsBeyond cannot be held liable in any way for non-compliance or refused entry to the USA.

Entering the United States by land

Travellers who make their initial entry into the US by land from either Canada or Mexico are NOT required to apply for a travel authorisation (ESTA) before travelling. Please note, if your passport has ever been reported lost or stolen to the authorities and then recovered, please do not attempt to use it for travel to the United States. If you input the passport details into the ESTA application, your application will be denied.

Important - If you have visited Cuba at all – at any time and not even with the same passport, you are no longer eligible to apply for an ESTA for entry to USA and will be required to apply for a full visa.

The USA declared Cuba as a State of Terrorism in January 2021, but this rule applies even if you travelled before this date.
