Day 1 - UK to New York City

Arrive into New York City and transfer to your chosen hotel spending the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day 2 - New York City

Enjoy today exploring the sights of New York City! From the bright lights of Time Square to the breathtaking views across the city from the Top of the Rock and visit the Statue of Liberty. Speak to you consultant if you wish to add on one of our New York attractions.

Day 3 - New York City

Another day at leisure to explore New York City.

Day 4 - New York City to Denver

Today check out of your New York City hotel and transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Denver. Upon arrival in Denver transfer to your chosen hotel spending the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day 5 - Denver

Denver, the Mile High City, offers a vibrant mix of urban culture and outdoor adventure. Explore iconic Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre for concerts or scenic hikes. Stroll through Larimer Square and Union Station for dining and shopping. Families will enjoy the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Art enthusiasts can visit the Denver Art Museum and the Clyfford Still Museum. Don't miss the 16th Street Mall for a lively downtown experience. With over 300 days of sunshine annually, Denver is a year-round destination blending culture, cuisine, and natural beauty.

Day 6 - Canyon Spirit – Denver to Glenwood Springs

Embark on your Canyon Spirit journey from the picturesque Denver, Colorado. Heading west, you’ll be greeted by your first engineering marvel – the Big 10 Curve. As the train ascends, it will cross the Continental Divide through the Moffat Tunnel. Journey along the Colorado River, marvelling at the colossal beauty of Byers and Gore canyons. Keep an eye out for wildlife as you pass through Glenwood Canyon, on the Upper Colorado River. Finish your day in Glenwood Springs, where you’ll unwind overnight in a cosy hotel, included as part of your journey.

Day 7 - Canyon Spirit – Glenwood Springs to Moab

As you head southwest, you’ll begin your day surrounded by mountain vistas and desert cliffs. Rugged landscapes lead to the striking 15-mile De Beque Canyon, renowned for its stair-step cliffs of sedimentary rock layers. Continuing west, you’ll encounter Mount Garfield, the pinnacle of the Book Cliffs. Spanning 200 miles from east to west, these sandstone cliffs and mountains mark your transition from Colorado to Utah. Striking red rock formations signal your approach to Moab, the gateway to Utah’s Mighty 5 National Parks.

Day 8 - Canyon Spirit – Moab to Salt Lake City

After a restful night in Moab, wake up to a morning of exploration at your own pace whether it’s soaking in the desert sunrise or discovering the town’s hidden gems. Once onboard the train, journey past the last of the scenic Book Cliffs before winding through Castle Gate and ascending through the stunning Price Canyon, crossing the historic Soldier Summit via the Gilluly Loops. From Thistle Tunnel, travel through Red Canyon, taking in breathtaking views of the Wasatch Mountains before arriving in Salt Lake City via Spanish Fork.

Day 9 - Salt Lake City to San Francisco (Overnight)

Embark on a stunning rail journey from Salt Lake City to San Francisco aboard Amtrak’s California Zephyr one of the most scenic train routes in the U.S. This 19-hour adventure showcases a breathtaking cross-section of the American West, from shimmering salt flats to dramatic mountain passes.

The journey begins in Salt Lake City, hugging the Great Salt Lake before crossing the striking Bonneville Salt Flats. As the train enters Nevada, passengers are treated to views of vast deserts, rugged peaks, and remote high-desert towns. The landscape transforms dramatically as the Zephyr climbs into California’s Sierra Nevada, winding through pine forests and past alpine lakes, including the historic Donner Pass.

Descending into the Central Valley, the route passes lush farmland and vineyards, with stops in Sacramento and Davis. The trip ends in Emeryville, where a connecting Amtrak Thruway bus takes you across the Bay Bridge into San Francisco, offering views of the bay and skyline.

Day 10 - Arrive San Francisco

Arrive into San Francisco, transferring to your hotel spending the remainder of your evening at leisure.  

Day 11 - San Francisco

San Francisco offers a perfect blend of iconic sights, rich history, and vibrant culture. Start your adventure at the Golden Gate Bridge, then explore the eclectic shops of Haight-Ashbury or ride a historic cable car through the city’s famous hills. Visit Alcatraz Island for a taste of the past, stroll along Fisherman’s Wharf, or enjoy sea lions at Pier 39. The city’s neighbourhoods from colourful Chinatown to trendy Mission District offer unique dining and cultural experiences. Don't miss the breathtaking views from Twin Peaks or a peaceful walk in Golden Gate Park.

Day 12 - San Francisco

Today check out of your San Francisco hotel and transfer to the airport for your onward flight home.
