Race Across the World has taken viewers from the Andes to the Canadian Rockies, across Asia and on towards the Australian coast. Each series reminds us why the journey matters as much as the destination.
Inspired by these routes, we’ve put together a guide to our favourite Race Across the World destinations, with TripsBeyond tailor made holidays to match. You won’t be racing on a budget with no phone, but you will see the same landscapes in far more comfort.

Celebrity Race Across the World headed to Australia for the first time, with a route from Kuching on the island of Borneo to the finish in Melbourne. It’s a reminder that Asia and Australia combine well, and a stopover in Asia is a good way to break up the long journey to Australia.
Australia’s east coast offers sun soaked beaches, the Great Barrier Reef and the rainforest of Daintree, plus the cities of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Kangaroos are never far away.

Series two of Race Across the World ran from Mexico City to Ushuaia in Argentina, the most southerly city in the world. Racers crossed Central and South America through Honduras, Panama, Colombia, Peru and Brazil, taking in everything from the Andes to the Amazon before reaching Patagonia and the end of the continent.
Machu Picchu, Amazon river journeys and Patagonia’s glaciers all make superb holidays in their own right, and we can link them together into one trip.

Race Across the World has crossed Asia several times, and each route shows a different side of the continent. Racers have travelled through Japan, Cambodia, China, India and Mongolia, and the Celebrity series began in Borneo’s jungle.
On a tailor made holiday you can explore Japan’s cities and mountains, the temples of Cambodia and the rainforests of Borneo at a gentler pace.

Series three was set entirely in Canada, from Vancouver on the Pacific coast to St John’s in Newfoundland on the Atlantic. Along the way you pass through the Canadian Rockies and their turquoise lakes, then on to the wilderness of the north and the Maritime provinces, with their coastal towns, beaches and lighthouses.
Canada is built for long journeys, whether by rail, car or motorhome, so it suits a once in a lifetime trip perfectly.
