Day 1 - Kuala Lumpur

Arrive in Malyasia, transfer to your chosen hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2 - Kuala Lumpur

Today enjoy a city tour to help orientate yourself in this vibrant city.

Day 3 - Kuala Lumpur

Spend a day at leisure exploring Kuala Lumpur at your own pace.

Day 4 - Kuala Lumpur - Sandakan

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Borneo. On arrival at Sandakan Airport transfer to your accommodation for the night. Check in and spend the rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 5 - Sandakan - Kinabatangan River

Transfer to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Proceed to the free roaming area feeding platform. At this centre, observe man’s closest relative “the Orangutan” being rehabilitated to return to their natural habitat and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. Visit to the Outdoor Nursery, learn about the management of the juvenile Orangutans. Next, visit to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. 

Transfer to the Jetty in Sandakan. Take a boat ride to Abai. Arrive at the Kinabatangan Wetland Resort. In the late afternoon board a cruise along the Kinabatangan River in search of wildlife, and admire the stunning landscape as the sun sets. If weather permits, we shall continue to observe the fireflies shimmering as the evening falls before we cruise back to resort. After dinner, geared with your headlamp or torchlight, take a stroll along the boardwalk to look for interesting insects or other wildlife that may turn up after dark.

Day 6 - Kinabatangan River

Take an early morning cruise up river safari to the Pitas oxbow lake before returning to the hotel for breakfast. Spend the day at leisure before another afternoon cruise/safari.

Day 7 - Sukau Rainforest Lodge

Take a scenic boat transfer to the multi award winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge. There will be opportunities along the way to view wildlife and birds, and if you are lucky, even the shy Bornean Pygmy Elephants. Cool down with a refreshing drink and cold towel upon arrival.

In the late afternoon enjoy a river cruise, take loads of photographs as the wildlife extravaganza puts on a show. Return for a hot shower after sunset before enjoying a candlelight buffet dinner overlooking the mighty river. Your meal is followed by a slide show and interpretation by an in-house naturalist guide.

Day 8 - Sukau Rainforest Lodge

Take a morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap lake to view more birds and wildlife. Back to the lodge for breakfast After breakfast, proceed for an educational tour along the lodge’s Hornbill Boardwalk with an in-house naturalist. After lunch, join an Orangutan Talk activity. 

Afternoon, another river cruise to search for more wildlife. After tour, transfer back to the lodge.

Day 9 - Sukau Rainforest Lodge - Kota Kinabalu

After breakfast, return to Sandakan Airport for your departure flight to Kota Kinabalu. On arrival transfer to your chosen hotel.
